Senatoriable Dra. Minguita Padilla Pushes support for Construction Workers and CWS Party-List

Minguita Padilla expressed support for the plight of construction workers all over the country and those working abroad. She said that she is supporting the advocacies of CWS Party List who represent the construction workers and its other affiliated sectors.

Dra. Padilla mentioned in her Facebook Live that when she was a young ophthalmologist, construction workers were one of the first people she treated, especially those who were going to Saudi Arabia 30 years ago and those who had eye injuries.  She added that her reputation grew because of them.

Knowing the hardships of construction workers, Dra. Padilla vowed to help their causes once she sits in the senate. Dra. Padilla specifically pointed out the need to pass the Magna Carta for Construction Workers which was principally authored by CWS Party List’s representative Cong. Romeo Momo when CWS entered congress for the first time in 2019.

Dra. Padilla assured that she will be their counterpart in the senate once she wins a seat.

CWS Party-List has been pushing for more benefits for construction workers such as accident insurance as well as the establishment of an academy to upskill them.

Both Dra. Padilla and CWS Party-List are aligned in pursuing the continuation of the Build! Build! Build! Program of the Duterte Administration to be able to create a healthier economy due to the effects of the pandemic. Dra. Padilla added the need to pursue housing for construction workers.

In a Facebook Live with fellow Reporma senatoriable Monsour Del Rosario, Dra. Padilla reiterated her support while Del Rosario chimed in the Ilonggo dialect. Both Padilla and Del Rosario were in a sortie in Bacolod when they aired their Facebook shoutout to construction workers and CWS Party List.
